Gamifying the “unspoken”: Designing to Resolve Myths on Contraceptives among the Himba people of Namibia.

In this paper, we highlight our experiences of co-designing e-health technology solutions with the Himba people of northern Namibia. Using a user-centered and participatory design approach, we found out that there are various health information challenges faced by the people, many of which can be attributed to misconception and myths. We report on the design process used to develop a prototype of a HopScotch Game to help in passing correct information and dispelling myths and misconceptions. We also discuss the problems we faced in the process as well as the methodology used and give recommendations for future interventions
