Structural, compositional and optical properties of electrochemically grown iron diselenide thin films

2019
Abstract This work report the structural, compositional and optical properties of iron diselenide thin films prepared on indium doped tin oxide coated conducting glass substrates using potentiostatic electrodeposition technique. The value of deposition potential is found to be vary in the range between −300 and −600 mV versus SCE. Structural characterization showed that the deposited films exhibited polycrystalline nature with orthorhombic structure. The parameters such as crystallite size, rms microstrain, dislocation density and stacking fault probability are estimated for the deposited films. Morphological features with film composition showed that deposited films have smooth surface with nearly stoichiometry. Ultraviolet–Visible-NIR spectroscopic measurements indicated that the deposited films have band gap value in the range between 1.03 and 1.08 eV.
