Mixed Domain Model to Mimic Current-fed LCC-T Resonant Converter

2020
Fundamental Harmonic Approximation (FHA) technique significantly alleviated the modelling complexities involved in classical time domain, state-space and state-plane approaches in achieving a mathematical model to mimic the high frequency transformer isolated dc/dc converter behavior, which is essential in analysis and design. However, FHA fails to mimic current-fed isolated LCC-T resonant converter due to presence of 2nd order dominant harmonic in front-end inverter voltage. Resonant tank cannot attenuate such dominant harmonics. In order to address this issue, this manuscript presents mixed domain approximation model to mimic current-fed isolated LCC-T resonant converter. Verification of proposed model is presented through FFT analysis against existing time domain and FHA technique.
