2014
It was assessed in vitro digestibility (IVDMD) dry mass of five genotypes of Cynodon: Tifton 85, Jiggs, Russel, Tifton 68 and Vaquero, sampled in four ages of regrowth (28, 48, 63, and 79 days). The experimental design was of randomized blocks, with treatments arranged in a split-plot design, with five genotypes as a plot and the four ages of regrowth as subplots, and four replications. Assessing the in vitro digestibility of dry matter, the genotypes showed significant differences (P<0.05) within each structure (whole plant, leaf blade and culm). Tifton 68 expressed the highest values, 78.15; 81.72 and 75.45%, respectively for the whole plant, blade and culm. The increasing age of forage regrowth it was reduced the digestibility of dry matter yields for all genotypes. It is recommended that all genotypes must have a cutoff frequency of every 28 days in order to achieve better digestibility.
