Investigation of multiferroic properties of doped BiFeO3–BaTiO3 composite ceramics

Abstract The 0.85Bi 0.95 Dy 0.05 Fe 0.98 Cu 0.02 O 3 –0.15BaTiO 3 and 0.85Bi 0.95 Dy 0.05 FeO 3 –0.15BaTiO 3 multiferroic composites were prepared by a solid state reaction method. The XRD patterns of the composites confirmed the presence of BiFeO 3 and BaTiO 3 . The ME coupling of the composites shows conspicuous enhancement compared to that of undoped BiFeO 3 . Among the composites, Bi 0.95 Dy 0.05 Fe 0.98 Cu 0.02 O 3 –BaTiO 3 composite shows multiferroic properties better than that of Bi 0.95 Dy 0.05 FeO 3 –BaTiO 3 composite. The results are attractive for the applications in memory devices.
