An Overview on the Effects of Regulated Deficit Irrigation on Winter Wheat Yield, Grain Quality, and Water and Nitrogen Use

2015
With the improvement of people's living standard and the maturity of modern agriculture theory, winter wheat production tends to put more emphasis on grain quality and yield, and pay more attention to the efficient use of water and nitrogen. Winter wheat yield and quality is not only influenced by genetic traits, but also affected by cultivation measures and environmental factors. Among them, water is one of the most important factors. This paper reviewed the research progress of the response of winter wheat growth, photosynthetic product formation and distribution, and nitrogen and water absorption, etc. under regulated deficit irrigation. And focused on the status quo of effects of regulated deficit irrigation on winter wheat yield, quality, and water and nitrogen use efficiency worldwide. At the end, the developing trend in the future was briefly discussed.
