Protective Effects of Tetramethylphrazim on Cerebral-Ischemia Reperfusion Damages in Rats

2000
Objective To observe the dynamic changes of malondialehyde(MDA) content and ATPase activity in the hippocampus structure in rat suffering from ischemia reperfusion damage, and to investigate the protective effects of tetramethylphrazim(TMP).Methods An cerebral ischemia model of Wistar rats was getten by clipping bilatral carotide, and reperfusion was performed when the clips were released.Rats were randomly divided into sham operated control group(SOC),ischemia reperfusion group(IR) and TMP treated group(TMP).Rusults ①MDA content came back to the control level 6 hours after reperfusion in IR,and TMP can lower MDA content obviously(P0.01);②ATPase activity came back to the control level 24 hours after reperfusion in IR.TMP can improve ATPase activity(P0.01) and shorten the period of the activity coming back. Conclusion TMP can reduce lipid peroxidation, improve ATPase activity and decrease neuronal damage in the IR injury of hippocampal structure.
