The Protective Effects of Jiutong Capsule on Alcoholic Liver Injury in Mice

Objective To study the protective effects of Jiutong Capsule on ethanol liver injury.Methods KM mice were given Jiutong Capsule orally at the dose of 0.08g/kg.d、0.17g/kg.d、0.5g/kg.d.30 days later,0.12mL/10g.bw(50%) ethanol were intraperitoneally injected.The liver triacylglycerol(TG),malondialdehyde(M DA),and glutathione(GSH) content were measured and liver change of pathomorphism were observed.Results Alcohol-induced liver injury in mice was set up satisfactorily.Liver TG and MDA in test groups were reduced significantly compared with model group(P0.05).GSH in test group was increased significantly compared with model group(P0.05).The mice liver tissue fatty degeneration scores in 3 dose groups were decreased as the dose increased,and that in 0.5g/kg.d group was decreased significantly compared with the ethanol control group.Conclusion Jiutong Capsule has protective effects on ethanol liver injury in mice.
