Liquid culture method in detection of mycoplasma from genitourinary tract: evaluation of effect

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the liquid culture of mycoplasma detection results,discuss its advantages and disadvantages,to provide a more accurate experimental data for clinical diagnosis of mycoplasma infections. METHODS Liquid culture and solid culture were adopted to performed parallel detection of clinical specimens in the urogenital tract mycoplasma. RESULTS Liquid culture positive for 361 cases,205 cases positive for the solid culture in 812 cases.Ureaplasma urealyticum the false positive was 59.69%,Mycoplasma hominis 21.74% false positive. CONCLUSION Detection of mycoplasma can not only lean on the liquid culture,and it should report combin the result of solid culture.
