Application of PID and Fuzzy based Controllers for Load Frequency Control of a Single – Area and Double – Area Power Systems

Load frequency control of a single-area and double-area interconnected power systems are demonstrated in this work using PID and Fuzzy controllers in MATLAB / SIMULINK environment. Performances of the proposed systems are evaluated in terms of time domain specifications and dynamic responses. Finally, the performances of the two controllers are compared with an integral controller.
