Acquisition of French as a Second Language: Do developmental stages correlate with CEFR levels?

2012
The paper examines the relationship between the Common European Framework of Reference levels and the developmental stages in the acquisition of French as L2. On the basis of an empirical study of written data produced by learners rated at B1 and B2 level by the Test de Connaissances du francais (TCF), the paper claims that it is difficult to find grammatical, albeit lexical means, that characterize specific levels of CEFR for languages.
