Types of Pleural Effusions

The differential diagnosis for pleural effusions is expanded upon, including both acquired and congenital causes. Specific fluid characteristics and locations are described, as well as their salient imaging findings. Both radiographic and cross-sectional imaging signs are discussed. Complications of pleural effusions are discussed.
