Clinical effect and prognosis of sustained release 5-Fluorouracil on advanced gastric cancer patients
2019
Objectiv
To explore the clinical effect and long-term prognosis of sustained-release fluorouracil intraperitoneal implants on advanced gastric cancer patients.
Methods
178 cases of gastric cancer who underwent radical gastrectomy between July 2013 and July 2015 were selected and studied retrospectively. 65 cases received the sustained-release fluorouracil implants were study group, the other 113cases without sustained-release fluorouracil implants were control group, and conventional chemotherapy was performed in both of the two groups.Date analysis was carried out by SPSS19.0, and operation related index were showed with mean±standard deviation (±s), and compared by independent t test. The complication rate and the 3 years survival rate were compared by Chi-square. And the survival time was analyzed by Kaplan-meier method. The P<0.05 indicated that there was a significant difference between the two groups.
Results
There was no significant difference between the two groups in the terms of operative time, intraoperative bleeding, the recovery time after operation and the complication rate (P>0.05). There was no statistically different in the survival rate half a year and 1 year between the two groups (P>0.05). The survival rate at 2 years and 3 years after operation in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion
The sustained-release fluorouracil intraperitoneal implants is safe and effective for the advanced gastric cancer patients, but the long-term effects needs more research.
