The Mechanism on Induced Freight Volume of Ports after Direct Navigation between Taiwan and Mainland

Taiwan and mainland have been in a state of isolation since 1949. Chen Yunlin and Jiang Bingkun signed the "The Cross-Strait Shipping Agreement" on November 4, 2008. It will become much more important to find out how the shipping trade increases. This paper first introduces several typical forecast models about the induced freight volume of traffic. It then analyzes the circumstances of ports between Taiwan and the mainland. Finally a prediction model about the induced volume of ports has been introduced.
