Aspekte bei der Wahl von Verfahren der zentralen Trinkwasserenthärtung. Teil 1: Voraussetzungen und Zielgrössen

Within two following articles criteria are introduced and discussed, which are relevant for the selection of technologies for centralised drinking water softening. The paper considers pellet softening, classical lime precipitation, CARIX-Process (Carbon Dioxide Regenerated Ion-Exchange) and nanofiltration. First, the limits of applicability of the technologies with respect to raw water quality and administrative aspects are pointed out. Further, the treatment goals are pointed out with emphasis on corrosion chemical properties of the drinking water after softening. In addition, technical, economical and environmental aspects are discussed. In the second paper, a selection of criteria is quantified for typical case studies.
