Use of synthetic polyelectrolytes in treatment of kraft paper mill wastewater

1997
Different coagulants and coagulant aids have been tried to assess their COD, S.S and Colour removal potential from a paper mill effluent. The reduction of colour was 59.4% with aluminium chloride alone. The coagulant-aid EA 1533 gave the maximum COD and colour removal of 97.8% and 93.3% respectively. Sufloc with magnesium chloride was best for colour removal with 93.3% removal.
