TRATAMENTO CIRÚRGICO DA EPILEPSIA NA INFÂNCIA

There are many therapeutic options for the tratment of epilepsy. In general, anti-epileptic drugs are used initially; however, a great number of patients become refractory to pharmacological therapy, and further investigations frequently find brain abnormalities amenable to surgical treatment. In these cases, surgery comes up as an excellent alternative for seizure control. The current paper aims to describe the main clinical concepts and surgical strategies for epilepsy treatment.
