Use Of Passive Filters Connected to the AC side of Railway Substations Supplied in Medium Voltage

This paper illustrates the study of the harmonic filtering system installed in the Ponte Albanito railway substation, along the future Naples-Bari High Speed line, on the Cervaro-Bovino stretch. In particular, by appropriate simulations of the network, a sizing of the fundamental parameters of the filtering system was carried out. The study, on the basis of the design choice of power line architecture and type, gives the fundamental parameters of the filtering system in order to guarantee the best performance of the ESS and to avoid harmonic interferences.
