Research progress and application status of telestroke

2015
Although the evidence of the evidence-based medicine has showed that recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator can effectively open the occluded vessels, because of its short therapeutic time window and the risk of bleeding, the thrombolytic rate is generally lower currently. Clinical studies have showed that telestroke can effectively shorten the treatment time of the patients, increase the thrombolytic rate, reduce the risk of bleeding, and improve the outcomes of patients. Although the application of telestroke is restricted in many ways, such as technology, policy, and funding, with the growing maturity of the related technologies, telestroke will play an increasingly important role in the treatment of stroke.
