Sequences, antibodies, and processes required for the detection and assay in vitro periostin, for diagnosis monitoring or prognosis of diseases or biological phenomena involving periostin

The invention relates to new SP detection of sequences of the periostin. These sequences have 6 to 30 amino acids and include all or part of the peptide sequence SEQ ID No. 1, SEQ ID NO: 2 or SEQ ID No. 3 or of a peptide sequence homologous thereto. The invention also relates to antibodies capable of specifically recognizing at least one of the detection blocks, preferably an anti-periostin antibody. The invention also relates to methods and kits for detection and quantitation of periostin using these antibodies. In doing so, the invention provides a marker periostin early diagnosis, monitoring and prognosis of diseases that involve periostin as they are accompanied by benign osteolysis (inflammatory diseases: musculoskeletal diseases) or malignant (cancer metastasized bone).
