Study on Development of Mid-Early Maize Hybrid Xinyu41 with High Starch Content and Tolerance to drought

2010
【Objective and Method】Mid-early mature maize hybrid Xinyu41 with high starch content and tolerance to drought was developed by Institute of Grain Crops,Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It was released by Xinjiang Crops Variety Releasing Committee in 2007.【Result and Conclusion】It obtained the yield of 907.15 kg/667 m2 in regional test and 860.6 kg/667 m2 in productive test in Xinjiang. It is 8.86% and 10.38% significantly higher than the check hybrid Xinyu 13,respectively.The days from emergence to maturity are 126.6 d in spring planting with effective temperature over 2 600℃ above 10℃.It is adaptable for spring planting in north Xinjiang and for interplanting in south Xinjiang.Index of resistance to drought is 1.39 and beyond first class with strong ability of resistance to drought. The bulk density of grain is 730 g/L,starch content is 75.96%,weight of 1 000 kernel is 33 g.The suitable density is 4 500-5 000 plants/667 m2.
