Encapsulation and Controlled Release of Cephanone in the Vesicles of Triton X-100 System

OBJECTIVE A β-lactam antibiotic Cephanone was used to investigate the encapsulation and controlled release in the surfactant vesicles.METHODS Vesicles were prepared from the lamellar liquid crystal of Triton X-100 system under ultrasonication,the encapsulation efficiency and the releasing rate of Cephanone were determined by UV-spectrophotometry and Ultracentrifugal sparation.RESULTS Triton X-100 vesicles can effectively encapsulate and decrease the releasing rate of Cephanone.CONCLUSION Surfactant vesicles can be applied as a drug controlled release system.
