PSICOLOGIA E CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS EM UTI NEONATAL

RESUMO : O avanco tecnologico tem permitido a sobrevivencia de neonatos prematuros e/ou com complicacoes clinicas graves. Porem, uma parcela desta populacao e acometida por condicoes incompativeis com a vida, para a qual estariam indicados cuidados paliativos. Diante deste contexto, objetiva-se apontar possiveis atribuicoes do psicologo enquanto profissional parte da equipe de UTI Neonatal e que trabalha em cuidados paliativos. Para tanto, foi realizada revisao bibliografica integrativa. Destacam-se nos resultados as dificuldades enfrentadas pelas equipes para mudanca de foco terapeutico e, consequentemente, a necessidade de implantar programas multiprofissionais sistematizados em cuidados paliativos. Aponta-se a importância do investimento na comunicacao entre equipe e familia, possibilitando tomada de decisoes conjuntas. Neste sentido, o trabalho do psicologo relaciona-se principalmente ao cuidado de pais e familiares, auxiliando-os na construcao e manutencao de vinculo com o bebe, na comunicacao com a equipe de saude, no estimulo a expressao de sentimentos e elaboracao das vivencias relacionadas a hospitalizacao e a possibilidade de perda; e no suporte a equipe, mediando a comunicacao e estimulando o reconhecimento de seus sentimentos frente a possibilidade de perda dos neonatos. Assim, espera-se oferecer cuidado humanizado a bebes, familiares e equipes, focando em acoes que visem conforto e qualidade de vida. Palavras-chave : Cuidados Paliativos. Psicologia. UTI Neonatal. Hospital. Psychology and palliative care in neonatal icu ABSTRACT: Technological advances have allowed the survival of preterm and/or newborns with severe clinical complications. However, part of this population is affected by conditions incompatible with life, which would be indicated for palliative care. Given this context, the objective is to point out possible assignments of the psychologist as part of the professional staff of the NICU and working in palliative care. To this end, an integrative literature review was performed. Stand out in the results the difficulties faced by the teams to change therapeutic focus and hence the need to deploy systematic multidisciplinary programs in palliative care. Pointed out the importance of investment in communication between staff and family, enabling joint decision. In this sense, the psychologist work is primarily related to the care of parents and families, assisting them in building and maintaining a bond with the baby, in communication with the healthcare team, encouraging the expression of feelings and experiences related to the hospitalization and possible loss; and support staff, mediating communication and encouraging the recognition of their feelings towards the possibility of loss of neonates. Thus, we expect to provide humane care to infants, families and teams, focusing on actions aimed at comfort and quality of life. Keywords: Palliative Care. Psychology. Neonatal ICU. Hospital.
