CONCEPTUAL REVIEW OF LOCAL WISDOM IN LAW NUMBER 6 OF 2014 CONCERNING VILLAGE

The presence of Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages provides fresh air for villagers in general and village government in particular, to sustain the independence of the village in an attempt to increase the welfare of society by exploiting all the potential of the village. Article 24 of Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning village mandates that the village government in carrying out its government must be based on the general principles of government. One of the general principles of the rule is the principle of local wisdom. In general it can be understood that local wisdom is the identity of rural communities that serve as guidelines in managing the civilized life. This study aims to identify the concept of local knowledge that is contained in Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning village by using normative legal research methods through a statute approach, historical approach, and conseptual approach. The concept of local wisdom in Law No. 6 2014 do not yet reflect the true nature of the meaning contained in the local wisdom as a guiding value system of village communities in managing the village. It can be seen from deficit village authority and the village development plan that is not fully based on the consideration of the needs and interests of the village. Therefore, to ensure the operation of local wisdom in village life, the things that need to be addressed: Preservation of local knowledge and familiarization back into village life, Institutionalization of local wisdom in the management of the village, and political will government.
