Supersingular Algebraic Curves in Cryptography and Coding Theory

2012
Supersingular curves over finite fields have some unusual properties, and yet they arise naturally in connection with some applications. We will give a general talk on this topic, and we will survey some of the ways that supersingular curves appear in cryptography and coding theory. These applications include elliptic curve cryptography and weight distributions of certain error-correcting codes.
