Nedostaci povezani s MARPOL-om uočeni na brodovima pregledanim u hrvatskim lukama

2020
Maritime transport significantly contributes to the pollution of the Adriatic Sea. The goal of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) is to eliminate intentional pollution from ships and to reduce the possibility and consequences of accidental pollution. Port State control contributes to the effective implementation of MARPOL provisions. During a visit to a foreign ship, inspectors identify potential deficiencies and, depending on their severity, may detain the ship. The paper analyzes the deficiencies related to MARPOL recorded on ships inspected in Croatian ports in the period from 1.1.2017 until 31.12.2019 to identify which problems are most common and to propose appropriate measures.
