Discussion on arithmetic of main influence angle of stratum for prediction of ground settlement

There are some disputes on adopting the value of the main influence angle of stratum when using predicting the ground settlement caused by tunnel construction in city with the stochastic medium theory.The main influence angle of stratum is related to the condition of the stratum concerned and then the profile of the surface settlement trough is directly impacted by the magnitude of its value.Based on the existed arithmetics,an expression that mainly applied to calculating the main influence angle of the stratum of hard clay is put forward herein,which is simultaneously demonstrated with some actual engineering cases.The results show that the expression given herein can better reflect the characteristic of the surface settlement caused by tunnel construction,and then,has a certain referential significance.
