The tunneling frequencies of CH4 adsorbed on NaCl(100) and LiF(100)

Abstract The tunneling frequencies of CH 4 adsorbed on NaCl(100) and LiF(100) are computed as a function of molecular field strength. The tunneling frequencies are computed for both the dipod and tripod orientation of the methane molecules. For CH 4 adsorbed on NaCl, the tripod orientation is likely.
