Comparison on Corrosion of Brass and Cupronickel in SO_2 Containing Atmosphere

The corrosion behavior of brass and cupronickel in SO_2 containing atmosphere with high relative humidity was studied by the analysises of mss loss,SEM,and XRD.The result showed that the mass loss of brass and cupronickel with test time follow linear relationship,and corrosion resistance of cupronickel is stronger than that of brass.The primary corrosion products of brass are CuSO_4·5H_2O,Cu_4(SO_4)(OH)_6·2H_2O and Cu_2O;and those of cupronickel are Cu_4(SO_4)(OH)_6·2H_2O and Cu_2O.
