Blockchain Enabled Model for Minimizing Post Harvest Losses

India ranks 94th out of 107 nations on the 2020 Global Hunger Index (GHI) with a score of 27.2. One of the three parameters used to calculate GHI is “Inadequate Food Supply”. Post-harvest losses (PHL) being one of the considerable setbacks leading to insufficient supply. Storage loss, which is one of the detrimental factors contributing to PHL, is causing concerns among farmers about sustainability in the agro-food sector. In this work, various conditions leading to losses during storage of fruits, vegetables and grain are discussed using data analytics and optimal solutions for the same using Blockchain Model incorporation.
