Optimization of the Extraction Process of Xiao'er Niuhuang Antipyretic Cataplasms by Orthogonal Experiment

OBJECTIVE:To optimize the extraction process of Gardenia jasminoides and Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora in Xiao'er niuhuang antipyretic cataplasms. METHODS:The extraction process of Gardenia jasminoides and Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora in Xiao'er niuhuang antipyretic cataplasms was optimized using orthogonal test by multi-index test total probability formula scoring method,with the concentration and amount of alcohol,and the extraction time and extraction times as factors,and with the content of jasminoidin and the yield of the extractum as indexes. RESULTS:The best extraction process of Gardenia jasminoides and Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora was as follows:8-fold volume of 60% alcohol were extracted twice (2 h each time). CONCLUSION:The above extraction procedure is reasonable,stable and feasible,and applicable to the industrialized production.
