Sensitive High Pressure Liquid Chromatographic Assay Method for Formoterol Fumarate

Abstract The HPLC method for determination of formoterol uses a 3-μm octyl bonded phase column, 4.6 × 50 mm, and a mobile phase of water-acetonitrile-trifluoroacetic acid in a ratio of 800:200:0.5 (v/v/v) at a flow rate of 2.0 ml/min. The limit of quantitation is 0.02 μg/mL, based on injection of 200-μL aliquots and the average between day coefficient of variation was 1.0%.
