The constant support that maintenance function provides to production in a productive industry must currently be high quality to efficiently respond to market challenges, which on many occasions involve changing the scheme of how to manage it. This paper presents a procedure that aims to identify the most relevant variables that influence the process of change in the maintenance management style together with the procedure to be followed, starting with the identification of the set of assets directly involved with the change, gathering information on capacities, availability of various resources and ending with the economic evaluation the process.
