Using Finite Elements to model circular saw roll tensioning
1996
The objective of this study is to demonstrate that the finite element method can be used to model tensioning in circular sawblades. The finite element analysis is used to determine the residual stresses in the blade; the introduction of these stresses into a modal analysis allows us to predict the dynamic behavior (natural frequencies and critical speed) of the sawblades.
