Introduction: Tension type headache shows a high prevalence and impact on the various aspects of life, creating a degree of disability that results in a high health care cost. Objective: A descriptive study of a random sample of women with tension type headache assessing their characteristics, impact on quality of life, comorbidities and physiotherapy approaches to implement. Methods: We included 68 women with a mean age of 39.1 years, tension type headache diagnosed according to IHS criteria. Structured clinical interview is conducted, using questionnaires assessing: quality of life, disability generated and impact of disease and associated comorbidities such as anxiety and depression and cranial cervical mobility by CROM. results: The onset of pain is usually suboccipital and interparietal and workplace stress as a trigger concern. The impact on disability scales shows: in state anxiety 25.32 points, trait anxiety 25.63 points, depression 9.78 points, impact of pain 60.66 points, functional disability 6.21 points and emotional 23.35 points. Cervical mobility was normal. conclusions: Tension type headaches affect quality of life with special emphasis associated anxiety and depression, being noteworthy disability from pain and labor impact stress. The professionals involved joint approach could improve the outcome of the therapy.
