The invention relates to a relay module control system and control method. The relay module control system includes a relay, a silicon controlled rectifier and a control module. When the relay module control system needs to work, at a zero point potential the control module controls the silicon controlled rectifier to open, thereby enabling the silicon controlled rectifier to control a working circuit to be switched on, then the control module controls the relay to open, the working circuit is switched on by the relay, and at the moment the silicon controlled rectifier can be switched off; and when the relay module control system needs to stop working, the control module controls the silicon controlled rectifier to open, then controls the relay to stop working, and then at the zero point potential, controls the silicon controlled rectifier to stop working, thereby enabling the working circuit to be switched off. According to the relay module control system, the control module is utilized to detect zero potential and zero current in the circuit so as to control switching-on and switching-off of contacts in the relay, thereby effectively reducing total starting current of the circuit.
