Domestic violence during pregnancy in the rural tribal women of Jharkhand.

The present study explores the extent of Domestic violence during pregnancy in tile 108 tribal pregnant women (52 tribal Christian and 56 tribal Sarna). Participatory methods such as Case study method Focus group discussion Criteria scoring Seasonal calendar Bill board method Pair wise ranking and Daily work load calendar were used to collect data. The results showed that domestic violence was more in tribal Sarna as compared to tribal Christian being highest in the third trimester of pregnancy. There was no support to victim. The present recommends an urgent need of intervention study to address the problem. (authors)
