Direct Instantaneous Torque Control of Three Phase 6/4 Switched Reluctance Generator Operating at Low Speeds

2019
In this paper, the direct instantaneous torque control strategy (DITC) is applied for the switched reluctance machine (SRM) operating as a generator at low speeds. The firing angles remain fixed in the decreasing part of the inductances. The instant torque is controlled with DITC for low operating speeds, the magnitude of the speed is maintained at low levels in order to keep the back-EMF lower than the supply voltage for an adequate torque control. The voltage generated in the capacitor is controlled in a fixed value using the Cuk converter.
