Improved Data Rate and Capacity Enhanced LTE Downlink Channel Estimation Techniques in Different Fading Environments

2021
This paper proposes and implements an enhanced Channel estimation technique through a multi-hop forward relaying strategy over time-varying fading environments with differential digital modulation schemes through non-coherent detection through the concept of position‐orthogonal multiple access (POMA) system. In the case of "multiple-symbol" detection, a second-order time-series model is used to analyze the characteristics of the MIMO nature of cascaded POMA based channels. Through the proposed model a data rate expression is developed and validated with the capacity based bit error rate (BER) simulation results. The modelled channel estimation technique shows the relative BER and data rate are related to the auto-correlated POMA channels and an improved capacity exists at LTE Downlink (DL) systems. To attain improved data rate with capacity enhancement, an optimal position-orthogonal multiple-symbol (OPM) channel estimation technique is developed. The data rate and capacity performance of the proposed OPM is shown with simulation results for several fading conditions.
