From Behaviorism to Innatism:the Heritage and Development of Language Learning Theories

Being put forward around the 1960's,all the four theories—neobehaviorism,cognitivism,humanistic psychology and innatism,are not only derived from the same modern psychology origin,but bring to light the universality of human learning as well.Although there are limitations of the four theories,we can find out that the cognitive science location of the research of modern language learning is the critical heritage of the four theories.In the recent ten years,there has been a new tendency of the language learning research home and abroad.More and more scholars come to realize that same as other learnings,language learning is some kind of change of individual mind state,therefore some new models of come into being.Thus second language learning come to appear transdisciplinary characteristics of linguistic,biology,psychology,pedagogy and anthropology,shedding light on some important questions.Generally speaking,fixing language learning on the field of cognitive science,it will not only expand the use of the field,increase the standard of second language learning,but also make contribution to brain cognitive science.
