The tool (generating cutter) for machining of large-size gear wheels facets is considered. Features of technology to machine the generating tool are described with application of electric erosion machining. Discussed in the paper are ways of use of universal equipment to remove rough edges and shape facets on end faces of teeth in large-sized cylindrical gear wheels.
