Given the importance of personal efficacy beliefs in people’s cognitive development and their strong influence on the emotional and behavioral reactions experienced especially in difficult situations, the aim of this study is to analyze the predictive ability of self-efficacy on school anxiety in a sample of 1284 Chilean high school students, 634 boys and 650 girls (49.4% and 50.6% respectively) aged between 14 and 18 years (M = 15.43, SD= 1.24). For this purpose, the perceived self-efficacy was eval uated by the Academic Situations Specific Perceived Self-efficacy Scale (SPSASS) and school anxiety
