The Joint Detector Based On Prior Knowledge for Multipath Environment

This work deduces a novel joint detector taking advantage of multipath signal with the prior knowledge of multipath environment, which has a better detection performance than the conventional one. The available specular reflection is mainly considered and modeled as the prior knowledge of multipath environment. Subsequently, a Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (GLRT) is used to explore the novel joint detector combining Line Of Sight (LOS) and multipath signal. Numerical simulation results show that utilizing multipath signal could improve radar detection performance evidently when the multipath amplitude exceeds three-fifty of the LOS signal.
