Durability of steel fibre reinforced shotcrete - A review of published technical papers, codes and standards

2017
This paper provides a literature review of factors that affect durability of steel fibre reinforced shotcrete. The review critically examines a number of technical papers and research documents as well as codes, standards and specifications from Australia and around the world. The review highlights the difficulty in assessing fit for purpose durability design inputs. From a design perspective the two most critical variables are crack width and effective depth. From a construction perspective, shotcrete mix constituents and the application methodology are of critical importance.
