Turnover of chemical elements in dry meadow and forest ecosystems

2001
The results of a study of the structure, productivity, and functioning of a dry meadow phytocenosis under agricultural use and reserved conditions are summarized. Data on the content and a pool of chemical elements in the over-ground plant biomass are presented. The annual consumption, removal, and rate of turnover of macro- and microelements in the meadow ecosystem are determined. The parameters of the biogeochemical turnover of substances in a meadow and adjacent forest plantations are compared.
