Liver chemistry or liver function tests (LFTs), as they are more commonly but erroneously referred to, because they do not test liver function per se, are often used in clinical practice to screen for a variety of liver disorders, monitor the progression of known diseases, and assess the hepatotoxicity of various drugs.
