An epichlorohydrinamine polymer has a unit ratio of amine to epichlorohydrin units of 0.8: 1.2 to 1.0: 1.0, are preferably used as dimethylaminopropylamine and benzylamine amine units and / or ammonium. The epichlorohydrinamine polymer is used, for example for the surface treatment of semifinished leather products and textiles.
