Wireless energy transfer for industrial applications: Theory, available solutions and perspectives

2016
This paper presents state of the art of wireless energy transfer and discusses potential for actual industrial applications. The main attention was given to RF radiative and inductive non-radiative power transfer of electromagnetic energy. Presented calculations show that theoretically it is technically achievable to wirelessly transfer energy for distances of 5–10m with reasonable efficiency. Still, legal restrictions and the influence of inductive power transfer at the surrounding elements of infrastructure has to be considered carefully as a part of feasibility study of wireless energy transfer.
