Postoperative Analgesia Effect after Forearm Surgery of Coracoid Approach Continuous Brachial Plexus Block Guided by Nerve Stimulator

2013
Objective: To compare the postoperative analgesic effect, detached incidence and complication rate of continuous brachial plexus block by two different approaches for forearm surgery.Method: 100 ASA I-Ⅱsubjects scheduled to undergo forearm surgery were randomly allocated to two groups.Group I received the coracoid brachial approach plexus catheter guided by nerve stimulator, and postoperative analgesia by continuous brachial plexus block;Group Ⅱ received interscalene brachial plexus catheter approach guided by nerve stimulator, and the same postoperative analgesia.Result: The VAS scores of group I was significantly better than group Ⅱ at 8,12,16,24,36 hours postoperatively, the detached incidence of group Ⅱ was significantly higher than group I.There's no obvious adverse effects in all groups. Conclusion: It was concluded that the coracoid brachial plexus approach catheter guided by nerve stimulator can provide excellent postoperative analgesic effect for forearm surgery.
