Improved chlamydia assay

1989
PURPOSE: To measure qualitatively chlamydia germ in body fluids by attaching chlamydia antigen to a solid support induced to an amidine group, bonding the attached antigen with a tracer including the antigen bonded with a label and separating the support having the bonded antigen from liquid while detecting the bonded tracer. CONSTITUTION: Particles of amidine modificating latex is made contact with liquid deduced to include chlamydia antigen to attach the antigen to the grains. The particle having the antigen attached thereto is made contact with enzyme- chlamydia antigen bonded with enzyme to bond the antigen on the particle with the antigen for forming the bonded division including enzyme on the partider. Next, partider including the bonded division are separated from the liquid. The enzyme on the separated partider is made contact with a substrate reacting upon the enzyme to convert the substrate to a product while the presence of the chlamydia antigen is detected by the appearance of a color associated with the product.
